Beavers!!! 2011-2012
This year, for the first time in our Unit’s history, we have 2 Beaver colonies in 7th Meath!
We meet on Wednesdays from 6.30pm-7.45pm in both St Seachnall’s N.S.(River Beaver Colony) and S.N. Gael Scoil na Ríthe (Busy Beaver Colony).
Beavers join at the age of 6 and move on to cubs at the age of 9. The aim of the Beaver section is to develop each child physically, spiritually, socially, and mentally all through a programme of “learning by doing”, fun and enjoyment. We operate according to the “One Programme” in our Unit and have a variety of badges to earn over a Beaver’s time with us (9 Adventure Skills badges, up to 15 special interest badges, 3 personal progress badges,3 Nautical badges and the option of applying for the Chief Scout’s Award).
We’re really looking forward to this year of fun and activities. We’ll be hiking, camping, building, demolishing, cooking and singing – among other things!
Yours In Scouting
